Diana Rooney is originally from New York and moved to Grand Junction from Los Angeles in 1993. She has always been interested in the arts, whether it be visual arts, theater, or music. She enjoys the various festivals, markets, and art events throughout Grand Junction and nearby communities, especially the monthly First Friday Art Nights, Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, and Downtown Grand Junction happenings.
Diana is currently the Financial Administrator for a District 51 charter school. She has volunteered in several areas in Grand Junction, as she enjoys meeting and working with people, being an active member of the community, and promoting life in Grand Junction whenever possible. She is excited to participate on the Commission on Arts and Culture in serving Grand Junction.
Before moving to Grand Junction, Diana enjoyed working in the clothing industry as a retail clothing buyer and a merchandiser for a wholesale clothing company. She appreciates color, balance, and overall perspective whether it is in nature, art, music, etc. A life-long learner, she enjoys the variety of different art classes and creative opportunities offered here, and discovering more about beautiful Colorado. She makes a point to visit museums, galleries, and other events whenever she travels.
