On May 14, 2024, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to the Woodspring Suites, located at 659 Market Street, for a call about an unresponsive male. The male, discovered to have a suspected knife wound, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Through the investigation, a suspect was identified and arrested. Shenting Guo, a 32-year-old female, was remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility and charged with Murder in the Second Degree. The details leading to this incident remain under investigation and there is no further information available at this time. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will be responsible for releasing the identity of the deceased after appropriate notifications have been made. The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident.
