GJFD Responds to Fire at James Trailer Park

At 2:40 a.m. the Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a home fire at James Trailer Park at 480 28 ¼ Road. A Grand Junction Police Department officer on patrol discovered the fire and alerted dispatch. When fire crews arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames and in danger of spreading to a nearby trailer. Crews worked to extinguish the flames and protect neighboring structures. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation. One dog died because of the fire.

After the initial report of the fire, GJPD assisted with traffic control and scene safety. The American Red Cross responded for one person displaced by the fire. GJPD Victim Services and Mesa County Animal Control also responded to assist.
