GJFD Firefighters Contain Early Morning Attic Fire on Hall Avenue

Grand Junction, Colo. — At 6:22 a.m. this morning, the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a report of a possible attic fire at a home on the 2400 block of Hall Avenue. The homeowner reported smelling smoke and discovered heat and smoke coming from the attic before calling 9-1-1 and safely evacuating the residence.

Upon arrival, firefighters worked quickly to locate the source of the smoke while minimizing damage to the home. Crews discovered smoldering insulation in the attic and took thorough steps to ensure there was no fire extension into other parts of the structure.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the resident was not displaced. The origin and cause of the fire are currently under investigation.

The Grand Junction Police Department assisted with scene safety.
