On the evening of July 15, 2025, the pedestrian succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once next-of-kin notifications have been made.

On July 15, 2025, at approximately 4:10 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash at the intersection of North Avenue and 28 ¾ Road.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a pedestrian was crossing the roadway when they were struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on North Avenue. The Grand Junction Fire Department transported the pedestrian to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
This crash remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
