Grand Junction, CO – On September 20, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., first responders with the Grand Junction Police Department and the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash into a canal on Horizon Drive near Lakeside Drive.
Upon arrival, first responders located a submerged vehicle that was upside down in the water. A female passenger was transported to the hospital by the Grand Junction Fire Department for evaluation.
After the vehicle was recovered from the water, a male was found inside and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after appropriate next of kin notifications have been made.
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
