Fire Contained to Dump Trailer on I-70B

GRAND JUNCTION, CO – At approximately 4:08 p.m., the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 1800 block of I-70B.

Callers reported that the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Upon arrival, crews found a small dump trailer loaded with materials on fire. With assistance from the Grand Junction Police Department, firefighters were able to safely dump the burning materials from the trailer and extinguish the fire.

The fire was contained to the trailer and did not spread further. No injuries were reported.

The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation. The Grand Junction Police Department assisted with traffic control and scene safety.
