Police News Posted on October 21, 2025

Grand Junction, CO - Get ready for the coolest event of the season! Communities across Colorado are gearing up for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. This year, the Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff’s Office are teaming up with Special Olympics Colorado for the First Annual Grand Junction Polar Plunge.

Together, we’re diving in to raise funds for Special Olympic athletes from across the state.  Every dollar raised helps support sports, health, and education programs that empower children and adults with intellectual disabilities, building confidence, self-esteem, and life skills.

How it works:

  • Rally Your Crew (or fly solo!) – Gather your friends, coworkers, or family and take the plunge together!
  • Pick a Fearless Leader and Name Your Team – Choose a team captain and get creative with your team name.
  • Register Today – Sign up for the 2025 Grand Junction Polar Plunge and join the plunge!
  • Fundraise Like a Pro – Spread the word and raise funds to support Special Olympics Colorado.
  • Suit Up and Show Up – Costumes are highly encouraged. Bring your enthusiasm, towel, and courage…and get ready to have some fun!

Event Details:

  • Date: Sunday, November 9, 2025
  • Location: Highline Lake State Park (1800 11 8/10 Road, Loma, CO 81524)
