In addition to their assigned duties, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department can participate in a variety of collateral duties. These assignments and teams fall under our Special Units divisions. They are secondary to the officer’s primary assignment. Specialized training is generally required to improve the officer’s proficiency in performing the duties and responsibilities of the collateral assignment.
