Hauled Waste Requirements

The Persigo Wastewater Treatment Facility accepts liquid hauled wasted from permitted waste haulers at dedicated discharge points at the treatment facility. Allowed wastes include septic tanks, portable toilets, food service establishment grease, and other sources of domestic waste. Only wastes generated within Mesa County are accepted.

Waste Hauler Permit Application

Haulers that wish to discharge liquid hauled waste at the Persigo Wastewater Treatment Facility must submit a Waste Hauler Permit Application (PDF) to the Industrial Pretreatment (IPP) office and furnish a copy of their current Mesa County On-Site Wastewater Treatment Systems Cleaner License. All forms and applications must be entirely completed and returned with an original wet signature. Digital and electronic signatures will not be accepted per U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.

Disposal

All hauled waste must be manifested using Persigo Wasted Haul Manifests.

Septic waste haulers must pay disposal fees to Persigo for discharging any septic waste loads at City approved receiving stations. Disposal fees are billed on a per-gallon basis, based on flow meter reads or per load basis, and applied as 100% of the truck's discharge capacity. No disposal account can be activated until the hauler has obtained all necessary permits.

The approved receiving stations for hauled wastes are at the Persigo Wastewater Treatment Facility, located at 2145 River Road. The automated receiving station is available 24-hours a day and the other receiving stations are normally open for business every day between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. except holidays.
