Four Canyons Parkway Project

Project Update: Phase Two Construction

Beginning the week of January 12, 2026, the City’s contractor will start construction along 25 Road. Work will occur in three rotating phases to minimize traffic impacts, progressing from north to south and ending at the intersection of 25 Road and Patterson Road. During closures, local traffic will be detoured onto nearby residential streets to maintain access to homes, businesses, and schools. Upcoming work will include the installation of additional utility infrastructure along 25 Road.
Map of initial construction along 25 Road

Initial Construction will begin the week of January 12, 2026, through the beginning of February. This includes a road closure from Waite Ave. through F 1/2 Rd. Local traffic will be detoured to Waite Ave. on the north and F 1/2 Rd. or F 1/4 Rd. on the south. During construction, other travelers should use alternate routes along 24 1/2 or 25 1/2 Rd.

History

In 2005, the F 1/2 Area Corridor Study was completed and included a public involvement process. The findings from the Study provided the foundation for further transportation planning efforts and were incorporated into the adopted 2018 Grand Junction Circulation Plan.

In 2019, voters approved ballot measure 2A, which provides funding for the F ½ Road Parkway, as well as multiple transportation expansion projects within the City. This 5-lane, multimodal arterial will provide an alternative route around congested Patterson Road and serve a rapidly developing area.

In 2024, City Council adopted a name change for the F ½ Road Parkway to become Four Canyons Parkway, based on the ability for travelers to view four different canyons from the parkway.
