Background
The B ½ Road corridor, located east of 27 ½ Road, consists of a two-lane roadway that serves as a major east-west collector within the transportation network for the Orchard Mesa area. This is also a critical corridor due to the access to Lincoln Orchard Mesa Elementary School and Fire Station #4, both located just west of 29 Road. The section of B ½ Road from 29 Road to 29 ¾ Road was prioritized for improvements due to projected growth and the lack of pedestrian facilities near the elementary school, which was included in the voter-approved bond measure for transportation capacity improvements.
Schedule
This project is scheduled to be constructed in 2027.
Proposed Improvements
This project will widen B ½ Road from 29 Road to 29 ¾ Road to a 3-lane collector road section, including curb, gutter, sidewalk, bike lanes, and streetlights. The project improvements are proposed to increase safety and accommodate the projected traffic volumes for the area.
